Features artists (Festival Accès Asie’s program on July 8th and 15th, 2012)

____

Amrita Choudhury Website

Since the age of four, Amrita grew up with music, always moving to a rhythm and melody. She propels the company Ananda-Amrita Dance Creations to its greatest potential with her passion for dancing, her training, knowledge and experience in the performing arts. Great creative energy and a compassionate approach are what define her dancing.

Komang | Website

Ni Komang Swijani, of Balinese heritage, has been performing dances since the age of nine in her native country. Having immigrated to Montreal in 1992, she then taught Balinese dancing while still continuing to practice this traditional style on her own. Her meticulous dancing as well as her grace gives us an authentic glimpse of the beauty of Indonesian culture.

Arashi Daiko | Website

Since over a quarter century, the Arashi Daiko group has had the beat of their taikos resound throughout Montreal. Their vigorous performances draw the audience into unparalleled rhythms and share the musical culture of Japan. Their participation in Quartier en mouvement, whose mission reflects their own mandate to preserve and foster strong community ties has helped make Arashi Daiko what it is today.

Gravity Trio | Website

Gravity Trio is composed of the three most sought after percussionists in Montreal: Eric Breton, Patrick Graham and Bertil Schulrabe, who all embarked on this new project after collaborating on a musical project previously. They bring us rhythms of various styles from all over the world – while never forgetting their sense of humour.
