{"id":10158,"date":"2025-11-13T11:42:05","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T16:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/accesasie.com\/?p=10158"},"modified":"2025-11-19T12:38:43","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T17:38:43","slug":"call-for-applications-immersive-perspectives-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/accesasie.com\/en\/call-for-applications-immersive-perspectives-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications \u2014 Immersive Perspectives: The Third Wing of Butterfly"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/accesasie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Appels-2025-2026-1-min.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10154\" style=\"width:825px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\" style=\"font-size:18px\">Are you an emerging Asian artist curious to discover how collaborative and multidisciplinary art projects take shape?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Festival Acc\u00e8s Asie, in partnership with a collective of artists \u2014 painter <strong>Khosro Berahmandi<\/strong>, installation and video artist <strong>Hadi Jamali<\/strong>, musician <strong>Kimihiro Yasaka<\/strong>, guest composer <strong>Natsuki Niwa<\/strong>, and ceramic artist <strong>Reihan Ebrahimi<\/strong> \u2014 is launching a call for applications for its<strong> Immersive Perspectives Observation Program<\/strong>: a unique opportunity for learning and reflection designed for emerging Asian artists who wish to immerse themselves in Montreal\u2019s artistic scene and its creative processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">This program offers participants the chance to observe the creation process of <em>The Third Wing of Butterfly<\/em>, an evolving installation born from the meeting of diverse practices: video, sculpture, painting, ceramics, sound, and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\"><strong>About the Projet<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>The Third Wing of Butterfly<\/em> is a multidisciplinary, process-based installation that explores transformation as both a personal and collective experience. Rooted in intercultural dialogue, the project examines the tensions between familiar structures \u2014 social norms, identities, and beliefs \u2014 and the forces of change that disrupt them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">By embracing ambiguity, it invites the audience into a meditative space where transformation unfolds as an uncertain, layered journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Painter <strong>Khosro Berahmandi<\/strong> will create nine large-scale canvases depicting metamorphosis through both figurative and abstract forms. Installation artist <strong>Hadi Jamali<\/strong> will digitize and animate these works, generating the video components and light-based interactions. Musician <strong>Kimihiro Yasaka<\/strong> (Montreal) and composer <strong>Natsuki Niwa<\/strong> (Tokyo) will collaborate on the creation of an evolving soundscape that accompanies the experience. Finally, ceramic artist <strong>Reihan Ebrahimi<\/strong> will craft cocoon-shaped sculptures, offering a tactile anchor within the installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The project will be presented at <strong>Le Ges\u00f9 \u2013 Centre de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9<\/strong>, in Montreal, from May to August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\"><strong><strong>About the Observation Program<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The program reflects the desire of first-generation immigrant artists to open their creative process to the community. It encourages curiosity, dialogue, and reflection on the many ways a multidisciplinary collaboration can be built and transformed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Three emerging Asian artists will be selected to accompany the collective through different stages of creation\u2014from the initial development to the final installation and exhibition. Participants will take part in ten work and discussion sessions between November 2025 and May 2026 with the collective\u2019s artists, helping them deepen their understanding of the evolving dialogue behind a multidisciplinary artwork.
