Description

For its second edition, Magic Mixing brings together David Norsworthy-Shibatani and Leo Leung, two artists from the Asian diaspora with diverse choreographic practices, paired for a one-week residency in Montreal focused on exchange, exploration, and collaborative creation.

The project, inspired by the Kickstart program, evolves the approach by offering multidirectional mentorship between artists at different stages of their careers, where experiences and expertise are shared in an intergenerational and interdisciplinary manner.

The residency concludes with an informal presentation open to the public, followed by a discussion.

Mélange Mystique aims to forge connections, strengthen solidarity, and encourage creative exchange on a national scale. For its second edition, the program is expanding and will now also be offered in Toronto and Vancouver by CanAsian Dance; the Festival Accès Asie’s collaborator for the event.
