Anqi Sun (she/her) is a singer-songwriter, jazz vocalist, and music therapist based in Tiohtiá:ke/Mooniyaang/Montreal, on unceded Kanien’kehá:ka territory. Originally from China, she has called Canada home for the past decade, and her musical journey transcends Asian roots to embrace a fusion of styles and genres, crafting a mystical and alluring sound.

As a singer-songwriter, Anqi gained acclaim with her EP the Beginning in China, followed by various singles in collaboration with Canadian artists. Her latest release, the Mandarin-Chinese single Not too Far (不远不近) with Ossa Project, has received excellent reviews and been featured on CBC Radio and La Presse. Anqi’s upcoming album Jiā, premiering at this year’s Festival Acces Asie, chronicles her journey of acknowledging past trauma and the sense of loss of home, blending electronic and pop music with elements of Chinese folk sound in poignant and heartfelt songwriting.

Collectif Amwaj is an audiovisual project created by Syrian-Canadian musician Firas Nassri in collaboration with French-Canadian visual artist Jonathan Hardy and Iranian-Canadian singer Naghmeh Shafiei. It was born out of a shared desire to merge the world of traditional oriental music with visual and digital arts.
