In this story, a little mouse sets off in search of a hazelnut in the forest, but encounters hungry creatures eager to gobble her up. Come discover how she uses her wits, or perhaps the help of the giant Gruffalo, to escape!
From 3 years old.
Online booking starts on April 27 at 1:00 PM (maximum of 4 tickets per person).
Based on a Chinese folk tale, Gruffalo is a puppet show that combines Paper Theater and Shadow Theater, accompanied by original music for children aged 3 to 7. The decor and puppets are inspired by miniature (traditional Iranian painting) and the original music is a combination of oriental and western instruments. This performance is a new experience to bridge the gap between occidental puppet art and oriental puppet art. It is an attempt to bring the traditional oriental forms, update them, and adapt to the occidental aesthetics in order to create new dramaturgy. The play tells the story of a little mouse walking around the woods to find a hazelnut. But suddenly, she crosses beasts. By inventing different ruses, they want to bring it home. But the little mouse is smart enough and knows it’s a trick and they want to eat it. So, she invents something by telling them that she already has an appointment with a giant monster named Gruffalo.
Following the performance, the Valise Théâtre artists invite children to design and make their own paper theater in a creative workshop. The workshop is free upon registration for children who attended the show.
