JOB OFFER – COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT

Festival Accès Asie is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual for the position of Communications Assistant. This is a temporary full-time position under the Emploi Québec wage subsidy (work experience component) from January 19 to September 4th, 2026

Under the supervision of the Managing Director and Artistic Director of the organization, the selected candidate will work closely with the Programming and Communications Coordinator to assist with the communications for the organization’s events.

Main Responsibilities

– Promote the organization’s image and assert its identity;
– Follow the external communication plan: manage the annual editorial calendar and execute the communication plan;
– Manage social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok): posts, stories, and event creation;
– Create, write, translate, and send newsletters;
– Assist in updating the website (WordPress);
– Ensure visibility exchange follow-ups with our partners;
– Help with the preparation and logistics of festival events;
– Ensure that the planning, production, promotion, and dissemination of each event are completed.

Key Skills Required

– Excellent ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously;
– Good organizational skills and priority management;
– Strong adaptability, autonomy, and initiative;
– Excellent writing skills in French and English;
– Ability to work in a team;
– Proficiency in social media (Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok);
– Knowledge of communication tools: WordPress and Canva;
– Familiarity with Google Suite: Gmail, Google Drive;
– Understanding of the issues faced by diversity organizations is an asset;
– Knowledge of Asian arts and culture, and the arts and culture scene in Montreal is a plus;
– Knowledge in marketing strategy is an asset.

Recruitment Conditions

– Application deadline: November 14th, 2025;
– Start date: January 19th, 2026;
– Must be eligible for the Emploi Québec subsidy, work experience component (unemployed or on unemployment insurance) and obtain a valid wage subsidy letter from Services Québec;
– Temporary contract for 33 weeks at 35 hours/week;
– Compensation at an hourly rate of $20;
– Office located at 1200 Bleury St. in downtown Montreal. Hybrid mode, including in-person and remote work;
– Accessible offices for individuals with reduced mobility;
– The position requires the ability to work weekends and evenings during festival periods;
– Opportunity to participate for free in Montreal’s cultural life (festival events and other shows throughout the year);
– Unlimited sick leave (subject to conditions).

About Festival Accès Asie

Created in 1995, the Festival Accès Asie is a non-profit organization and an artistic, interdisciplinary, intercultural and intergenerational festival, based in Tiohtiá:ke-Mooniyang-Montreal. It presents the work of artists from Asia and its diaspora each year in May, Asian Heritage Month in so-called Canada. The artists presented are mainly connected to East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Middle East. Our programming includes several cultural mediation activities and festive events. It includes a wide variety of fields of practice, including performing arts, visual and media arts, literary arts, interdisciplinary arts and culinary arts. In addition to its activities in May, the festival also holds 1) Let’s confront racism together!, several artistic events aimed at fighting racism and building transcultural solidarity in March in Tiohtiá:ke-Mooniyang-Montreal, 2) the festival Fleur de lys, Fleur de thé which amplifies the work of Asian-Canadian artists in regional communities during the summer, as well as 3) several activities promoting Asian artists and taking place throughout the year, in partnership with other art presenters or festivals.
